Who Are We and What Do We Do?

We are a string quartet from Hradce Králové - Czech Republic. Together we have been trying to pass on the joy of music to our listeners since 2014. We do not avoid any musical period, style, or genre, and we will be happy to take every opportunity to share music with you.

Our music production is diverse. We offer concert activities, music for weddings, graduations, matriculations, and other church and secular ceremonies. We play in theater performances, at mourning ceremonies, we are happy to prepare an educational concert or a music quiz for children and adults. You can also hear us at balls, cafes, restaurants, family and corporate celebrations.

What Kind of Music Do We Play?

The Quartet's repertoire consists of compositions of world-famous authors (Vivaldi, Bach, Händel, Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Elgar, Brahms, etc.),
Czech composers from the past and present (Vaňhal, Vranický, Smetana, Dvořák, Suk, Sommer, Sluka, Hybler, Haas, etc.),

The arrangements of popular music (Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Queen, Beatles, E. John, K. Gott, L. Stirling, etc.) and, of course, film music (Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Frozen, Tangled, Married with Children, etc.)

The repertoire is constantly growing based on the wishes of our listeners or the inspiration in the latest trends.

What Exactly Is a String Quartet?

The String Quartet is a chamber ensemble consisting of two violins, a viola, and a cello. Its history is dating back to Classicism. These four musical instruments are a family. They represent all human voices and thus offer a very wide range. Using strings is giving us the opportunity to change the color of tones, and the dynamics of music, which creates an extraordinary atmosphere not only for festive occasions.

What Is Our History?

The Quartet has been playing since 2014. It was initially established as a student girls' chamber ensemble under the name String Quartet of the University of Hradec Králové by Alena Hübnerová - the artistic director and violinist. Nowadays, the Quartet consists of professional musicians from the Hradec Králové Philharmonic and music teachers.

Together we played hundreds of concerts, weddings, and other events. The history of which you can follow on our Facebook pages.

Where Have We Already Played?

We are connected to the place of origin. Therefore, a lot of our performances took place in Hradec Králové and its surroundings. We have performed at cultural events in the Aldis Congress Center, the University of Hradec Králové, the Hradec Králové Philharmonic, the Nové Adalbertinum Hotel or U Královny Elišky, the Museum of Eastern Bohemia, Jiráskovy sady, the Municipal Music Hall, the University Hospital Hradec Králové , in the Theater Drak or in Josef Tejkl 's Jesličky theater, in the Library of the City of Hradec Králové, in the music club AC, in the cultural center Centrum Mladých or also in the Observatory and Planetarium Hradec Králové.

Where Else Did We Play?

We played in Czech chateaux and castles (Častolovice, Dobřenice, Opočno, Nové Město nad Metují, Karlova Koruna, Pecka, Kunětická hora, etc.), in museums (Muzeum Boženy Němcové V České Skalici, Regionální muzeum v Chrudim) and also sacred places (Kuks, Broumov, Loučná hora, Lukavice, Hedeč, Smiřice, Česká Skalice)

We have cooperated with Czech schools (ZŠ Holice, ZUŠ Turnov, ZUŠ Jaroměř, ZUŠ Vysoké Mýto, ZUŠ Nové Město nad Metují)

We performed at the festivals (Festival Gardens in Smetana Litomyšl, International Music Festival Letohrad, Open Air Program Hradec Králové, Potterfest, etc.)

Other remarkable places where we played include the Schwarzenberg Tomb near Třeboň, Automatic Mills - Pardubice, Chateau St. Havel wellness hotel - Prague, café Kino Varšava - Liberec, Ludvíkova' brickyard in Jeníkovice, Lindr Mžany Brewery, or also on a wedding boat sailing on the waves of the Vltava in the center of our capital city Prague.
